1. A rope, cord, or string. (fishing line, anchor line)
2. A path through two or more points. (See also segment.)
3. (geometry) An infinitely extending one-dimensional figure that has no curvature.
4. (geometry) (informal) A line segment; a continuous finite segment of such a figure.
5. (mathematics) That which has length, but not breadth or thickness.
